He has commented more on that post that he's sworn to secrecy and that its a Universal matter. Also implied that the poop might belong to something precambrian, he is dropping the hints big time but its looking good that a Tremors 5 is currently in production finally.

Haha, that whole comment thread is amazing. Partial to Michael's: " I believe I have received more comments on this subject than from almost any other posting. Obviously this is a subject of universal interest!" At this point I'm almost just annoyed that we haven't gotten any confirmation from Universal. I don't get what they have to gain from keeping it a secret for so long.

So I'm guessing your on Reddit too? Because that's where I posted this which I wrote basically just to inform others who aren't on this board. Fun fact: That's actually how I found this board, one of you linked to a post of mine and it showed up in the stats.

Ha, I didn't even realize that was you! I saw it on Twitter, actually. I put together a short article of my own on comicbookmovie.com. First time ever making one, but hey, the site's pretty popular. All the exposure this project gets, the better www.comicbookmovie.com/news/?a=108379

Hopefully we get some official information soon, or some pictures. I am going to squeal like a girl if Michael Gross posts a pic of him in full Burt Gummer attire from South Africa.

The South Africa thing actually has me curious. I wonder is South Africa is doubling for Australia, or if the script has changed and Australia is no longer the setting?
I also wonder, if this is a brand new script, if the film is still going to show us the egg laying process of the ABs like the Australia script was slated to do.

That too has me curious, i am thinking they are using the original script but changed it up. Michael Gross said it himself in that interview at that fan thing in like Marc; "Theres is a script out there for a Tremors 5, 10 years old, needs work, etc."

I just really hope that it was Wilson and Maddock that did the rest of the work on the script and not somebody else. I know Gross mentioned there being a bit of bad blood between Stampede and Universal (which is 100% understandable), but I'd hate to see the film not in the hands of its creators at least on the written level.
It would have been really great if Wilson could direct again. I loved his work on the second and fourth films. Maddock did a fine job on 3 as well, but probably due to the rushed production (only 22 days) it had a bit more of a DTV feel to it than Wilson's installments did.

I agree, I also believe I read Tremors 2 was intended to be theatrical to start with.

Any source on that? From what I recall, Tremors 2 was made DTV because barely anybody saw the fist one in theaters but it sold well on VHS, so Universal figured they'd skip theaters and solely cash in on the format people watched the original.
I do recall an interview from a while back where they said that the ending would have been more grand in scale with a lot more Shriekers had they had the budget of a theatrical film however.
