This is really exciting. I like that there's a few similar word choices between him and Don Michael Paul. Primarily them both referring to it as a reboot, but keep describing it as a sequel. And when I'm first being speculative, I'd like to think back to Don Michael Paul's tweet from a few weeks ago. "London to Johannesburg in search of the illusive silver nitrate dream". 1. Silver nitrate is used in photography (film) 2. Silver screen is a common nickname for the cinema 3. Why would Don Michael Paul go in search of making a film, when he's already directed quite a few (all home releases)? 4. If Kevin Bacon is returning, I doubt Universal would do so for a home release like the previous three films. 5. Tremors 5, a cinematic release? Probably not. Wrote a bit more in-depth about it if for some reason someone's interested: wererolling.blogspot.com/2014/08/kevin-bacon-interested-in-tremors.html

Yeah, it's odd isn't it? Don Michael Paul is in South Africa as per his last update, but Michael Gross seems to be buzzing around in the Sates as per usual. I'm thinking Universal slammed down on Paul hard for his now-removed blog post. I wouldn't be surprised if suddenly get some more official word between week 38 or 39, from the middle of shooting it. *If* it happens at all, that is.

Theres been rumors of Tremors 5 between now and 2004, I am not getting my hopes up but it would be nice if they just scrap Don Michael Paul and get Stampede back in and add Keven Bacon since he said hes open to it.

Sure there's been rumours, but this time we've had an actor talking about a script and shooting schedule, a director claiming to film it at a location he later travels to, and Stampede themselves has confirmed there's been talks about it. Seems a bit more believable this time around. Regarding Kevin Bacon, do you really think they'd do that? He's not really that big of a pull anymore, and he certainly wouldn't do a direct-to-video film of this (implied) caliber. That would mean Universal would have to risk a lot more on doing a sequel for a franchise that's basically been dead for ten years. I'm all for getting Stampede back on it, though. I don't really get why they aren't involved considering they are the ones who actually had the franchise going beyond the original film.

Thats true on all that, plus the only way I could see Kevin Bacon really returning is if they did reboot it in the sense that they wanted a sort of fresh starting point that went to theaters instead. It would be a sequel but also a reboot in a sense with maybe only one small mention of the previous.

Part of me what to believe that that's the reason it's suddenly gone all quiet on Tremors 5. That they're wanting to revamp it to include Kevin Bacon and be a theatrical release. A man can dream. On another note, anyone else had any videos containing Tremors footage removed from YouTube lately? All my videos where removed. Universal didn't just take the ad revenue, they blocked them globally. One video featured footage from the first Tremors film, the two others were the into and end credit of Tremors: The Series. Odd timing to suddenly start caring about that, methinks.

Another movie or something celebrating the anniversary, seeing Michael Gross return as Burt in any capacity is beyond exciting.

I commented in the recent message about Michael Gross at Universal saying:
"We would sooner or later other news? I'm excited"
and he responded with:
"Hope to have more info by the end of this month."
hopefully good
