As much as I want another movie, it wouldn't be terrible if they just left the franchise as is. At least we'll always have what we have.
I just really don't want to see a remake... remakes/reboots aren't always bad (some are quite good), I just fear that they wouldn't be able to capture the charm of the first film.

I think a good reboot done right could bring the series up, as has happened for predator movie after Rebbot that went very well have been announced for the sequel!

i dont consider reboot bad because it acknowledges the original happened. More or less its still a sequel in my opinion, like the Predators movie.

With a fifth movie now out, I hope the remake idea is dead in the water and we get even more sequels instead.
Some thoughts on previous comments in the thread: I have to say I've never ever given the "fuck" word by Kevin Bacon in the original a second thought, it definitely hasn't bothered me at all and I don't think it's inappropriate or anything. Also shocked someone would want a remake to be more like part 3 and the series over the original or part 2. But it's interesting, nonetheless.
