I hope it's not official. I Would not watch it. Why? I didn't like how they did the original (mostly cause of Kevin Bacon, "fuck" just dosen't feel right in a Tremors movie). If they do remake it, it should be done more like Tremors 3 or Tremors: The Series. Not the first or second.

Agree about that Kevin Bacon scene, but other than that the movie is perfect. If it is remade it will end up an r rated, theatrically released gory horror movie, most likely without likeable characters...:/

The violence of Tremors, and the profanity, gore and sex of Cabin Fever 2. This would probaly be the rating: Rated R for Violence/Gory Images, Sexuality/Nudity and Pervasive Language. I bet Burt wouldn't be in the remake, although I'm hoping he will be if this real.

412 and group, Probably not true but if so, it would depend on who and how it was done. I have no idea who could replace Burt and Heather. I'm by this sort of like I am by the "Stagecoach" original and remakes. The one with Johnny Cash, Willy Nelson et al is good. The others really don't stand up to the Wayne original. The remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" would have been OK if I had not seen the original. Not a bad movie, just didn't live up to the original in my not so humble opinion. I've seen some good remakes but they are as rare as folks who have survived being eaten by a graboid. It can happen but I would not bet on it.

To be honest, I hate the thought of a excellent movie like Tremors to be remade, but I would go and see it to see what they have done with it. If they screw it up though I WILL let the production company know about it.

I would not see it. I would never give my money to another company who is remaking my favorite movie.

Well its probably still Stampede Entertainment and Universal making the movie. I doubt it would be made by a different company or studio just because it is a remake. But its probably not happening considering it was over a year ago when I found that link.

A remake would most likely have nothing to do with Stampede at all. Universal owns the rights, and Stampede has no say. Universal can do with the license as they please, unfortunately.

I'd love a remake. The forum would be full. If it was with the technology of Dreamworks or a really high budget studio it could be really good. I mean there's nothing like the original anything but never say never.

The problem with any remake is always the characters. It would be really tough to replace the original stars. I think about the various remakes of something like 'Stagecoach'. After the original, not much else came up to it until the latest version with the Willie Nelson and group. The latest is a good story but it is different than the original. Same with 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'. Remake is an OK movie but it doesn't have the punch of the original. Just my not so humble opinion.

I still say no. I just can't stand the concept of remakes. It is just more proof that Hollywood is running out of ideas.
The only remakes I enjoyed were the 2005 King Kong, which was more of a tribute to the original, considering how much Peter Jackson loved it, and True Grit, which technically isn't even a remake, considering its based on a book.
