timforston, sounds like you're raising your daughter right. Probably shouldn't get her a Grizzly Big Bore until she is a little older but certainly sounds like you are exposing her to the Great Literature of our times. :-) I enjoy hearing from the younger set ... Has she suggested you 'do what you can with what you've go' yet? Let her keep watching the shows and she will ... that would be a red letter day.

Question - are the monsters on Tremors nocturnal? In T1 they get the doctor and wife at night, T2 a noisy coyote, T3 El Blanco pays Burt a nocturnal visit, T4 the babies visit the camp site and the adults hit the freight barn. All at night. In the series, El Blanco munches on some Burros at night but he's being irradiated. The worm grabs the deputy at the IGC in the opening at night. In each case there was an unusual something going on - Burt's watch, the Techno-Ranch device, the running generator, the noisy coyote, .etc. I guess the camp site is an exception. The shriekers and AB seem to hunt at night quite readily. Do worms sleep? Also, back in the Cretaceous the earth would have had a day of around 18 hours so their sleep cycle would have been wildly different unless there was a hatching event every few hundred years or so. What do you guys think, do the worms sleep?

I got to thinking about some of the comments about 'dirt dragons' in China, Indian 'spirit beasts' etc. Could an incursion of Shriekers and AB's be responsible for the Greek myths about harpies? Could fit ...

Ass Blasters are probably my favorite. They are slender looking, they fly, and they can ass blast! You can't get any better than that

grabachino, being a flying kind of guy, you got a point, but as pointed out by Burt in "Blast from the Past" they don't fly, they glide!! It's like the old Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet, they blast off and then glide.

Yeah, but Rocky didn't have the RAT (Rocket Assisted Takeoff) unit. AB's have more STYLE Didn't Tyler mention Rocky in Blast from the Past as Burt is trying to explain them to him? Undercover waiting for Messerschmidt to land on Burt's truck?

But Burt's WHO??? was priceless. Poor Tyler is always a little behind the power curve around Burt unless it comes to driving anything. I wonder, could the life cycles have been predicted? Surely after T1 the egg sacks would have been found in the necropsy of one of the non-detonated worms. That should have been a clue. So the shriekers were real 'black swan events'. Then knowing that the worms are metamorphic it should have been suspected that the shriekers are also. The finding of the egg seems to mean the AB's are the end of the cycle. There is actually some pretty good logic to the shows and critters. I like them all but I thing the graboid is the scariest of the 3. Shriekers and AB's are faster but you can see them coming and a good semi-auto battle rifle is a great equalizer. Grabiods are tougher to kill.

Shriekers and AB's are faster but you can see them coming and a good semi-auto battle rifle is a great equalizer. As Burt said: "I advise using full auto fire." Semi automatic is NOT an option when you are faced with a pack of five or more shriekers running like crazy towards you. Only Fully auto. Now Ass-Blasters, a simple 30-30 could do the job.
