I was on Deviant art, and the picture below was in an advertisement, I was like 'what the hell is that thing'? It asks is it real or fake, what does anyone who reads this topic think? It looks fake to me. But that's just me. Attachments:

Fake, looking at the enlarged image I'd say it is a photo shop mash-up based on light, shadows and some of the body parts are appear to be from various species of animals.

Not much rat like in the image ... I suspect some monkey, probably with a disease like mange or some such. I've seen a skinned squirrel (I was 'cursed' by a 'brouha' (a Mexican/Hispanic witch) with one for 'interfering with her power with the people at a Church I was assigned to as a deacon - 15 years on it hasn't worked yet but something bad may happen to me yet! I put that in the same class as the Egyptian curse in Tucker's Monster) and there are some similarities but the snout and head are just wrong for a rodent. The legs and feet look more simian like and there is just no telling about the scale since we are dependent on the veracity of the photographer as to sizes. I did photo image interpretation for a few years. I wouldn't claim to be an expert but this appears to be a real fake! We could tell more with the actual negative, if one exists. I'd say this is an original photo shop.

this thing was on monster quest. the guy who took the picture had the mummified remaines of the creature. they examined it and found it was not tampered with and that it had several deferences with monkeys. they think it could have walked bibedaly. they could not recover any dna. i remember clearly because it scared the hell out of me. could aliens be real?

Let me just say this as an Archaeology/Anthropology student....If a creature has a brain pan of that size, and is presumed to be somewhat mammalian (i.e. live birth, not hatched. Considering it has hair and appears to be warm blooded) than the pelvis would have to be MUCH bigger than that to accommodate for the cranium at birth. Even if you take into account an early birth with extended gestation (humans, are born not fully "cooked") The size of that cranium is way bigger than the pelvis. Then there is the rat tail which of course would completely hinder bi-pedal locomotion. The gluteus are far too small for a creature that supports its weight on two legs and the shoulder and pectorals are too small for a quadruped. But it is a really nice fake though. Just my opinion :-)
