OK, in the series opener Tyler is forced up to the very top of the rock, a good 6 feet above the ground and he is still just barely out of range. In T3, the rocks the Jodie and Jack are on and Burt's feet while sleeping are way closer to El Blanco than that. Did the worm's tongue get longer in the series?

OK, by now most of you know that Nancy is my most annoying character ever! Every time she does something really off the wall it just annoys the heck out of me. Her little quip after presenting Burt with the 'Gung Ho, Gummer' statuette he takes it, grimmaces and drives off. Her 'You're welcome' at his back was wrong on a whole series of levels, not the least of which why should Burt be grateful for Nancy invading his space and using him to make money for her. He's not getting a royality and there is no school yet. So, she invades his space, creates something he doesn't like (although I'd buy one if I knew where I could get it), gives him a token AND expects him to be appreciative. I know folks like this and they annoy me about as much as she does Burt. Other question, why doesn't anyone ever try to contact Harlowe. Seems like that might be useful ... especially to Harlowe.

One more question - Burt sees the interference on his Seismo and "could be a covert op, some secret government experiment over at NTS'. Anyone know who/what NTS happens to be. Naval Technology Service actually exists but seems an unlikely culprit for Burt to single out.

Could be - stranger things have happened. In Blast from the Past they almost have a 'moment' as Burt comforts her over the deaths not being her fault. (I note she's more concerned about the unknown hang glider pilot than the bottom half of her delivery guy - maybe it just bothered her that the pilot was unknown and missing to his family; I can see that). In the first part of the series it looks like she's finally learning a few things. Her attitudes seem to be aligning with the reality of Perfection and along with Twitch seems to be maturing. But while Twitch continues to become less the 'mid-level government functionary' and more a person, I think Nancy reverts to Miss Woodstock - 1969. In 'Night' and in 'Rights' she falls right back into the Sheeple mindset. She is good with Cletus in '4-12' and stands strong in 'Ghost' but she seems a complete nincompoop in other places. A second season and a little growth could have made her into a viable partner for Burt but I don't know if you could ever trust her to cover your back. That she can take action is demonstrated in 'Night' (good bomb work) but it took the death of the government people and her own near death to trigger the appropriate action. Remember she actively opposed Burt's action even after she saw the security chief eaten. She could get you killed (would have gotten everyone killed in 'Night') if you depended on her. Could she become another Heather? Possibly but I think my money would be on Rosalita; as demonstrated in all the series, she is decisive and takes action. You could trust her to cover your back - as in 'Night'. She also looks good in a wet tee shirt!

Frenzy is a great example of folks who 'plan for success'. Around here (NASA) we keep getting the 'failure is not an option - plan for success' nonsense. Anyone who has done much flying knows that failure is not optional - it WILL occur so you'd better have a Plan D (that is for when plans B and C don't work - and sometimes they don't). On something as critical as the BMU to only have 2 to begin with and then let one get out of range was really dumb. To open that van door prior to checking out the functioning of the BMU and collar was fatally stupid. An amazingly large number of folks seem to live life on the premise that things "just have to work out right". When they don't, these folks are lost, confused, and unable to make alternate plans. Burt's 'I seem to be the only one with a plan for dealing with the [situation]' was the exactly correct response to Nancey. That he had to blow up his house was totally irrelevant to the situation at hand but to her, it was a strong argument for Burt to sit back and wait for the 'experts' to make everything right.

timforston- Yep, the old carpenter's rule, 'measure twice, cut once'.
412 - good call, I like that.

OK, I asked this and got no answer so I suspect most of the readership is as 'ethnically challenged' as I am. A friend explained to this 'gringo' (she made sure I understood that I was indeed a gringo :-) ) that 'on the DL' as Rosalita tells Tyler when he meets Twitchell means on the 'down low' which is another way of saying 'below the radar' or out of sight or other terms meaning keep in from becoming public knowledge.
Still no opinions for what the NTS stands for, even thought Cletus also uses the acronym in 412.

Maybe (if such a thing is possible) I've been watching the series too much (just in case I'm running through the movies again for a bit) but I was watching the opening trying to catch the shadow of what ever is moving down the road toward Tyler's Charger in the opening. I was curious as to whether it was a boom rig or an aircraft. Never saw the shadow but what I did find out is that it was an all day (maybe 2 day) shoot for that scene. Watch the play of the shadows - initially the sun is to the right rear of the Charger (check the shadows on the road - that is why there is no boom visible) but when Tyler stops for the photo, he casts a shadow on the left front fender so the sun is on the left side and looks to be ahead of the car. When Burt shows up, the sun is once again from the right side since he is in full sunlight while facing the rock. (OK, I used to do some photo interpretation for the guys in the green suits - what can I say?)

In Frenzy when Tyler first get's into Jodie's place, El Blanco makes a pass under the store. Everyone pulls a "general quarters' drill - unplugs fan, unplugs the soda machine that got Walter killed, steadied the ceramic figures, and steadies the various store items to prevent noise and vibration. Later in the episode (just be EB comes through the floor) and in other episodes, everyone quiets down but takes no other special action. OK, it was good theater for Tyler's introduction to Perfection and might be a pain to have to do it each time EB is around but what changed? This seems inconsistent within the series and that to me is not good. Comments?

In T3, Jack says he played minor league baseball and he wears a straw cowboy hat. In the series, Tyler wears a Las Vegas 51s baseball cap from the minor league that is there in southern Nevada. It is never explained how or why he has the hat. Did he get it from Jack when he "bought the business"? What do you guys think?

He could possibly have just been a fan of the team.
