For anyone who wants to "know Geology" there are too widgets i run that I find interesting. TremorSkimmer monitors earthquates all over the world and will run on either a Mac or an PC; works best on a Mac but either works. It provides a continuous update of current seismic activity. it can be found at: www.softpedia.com/get/Windows-Widgets/Widget-Miscellaneous/TremorSkimmer.shtmlThe other widget that i really like is for the Mac - it's called SeisMac from www.suitable.com/tools/seismac.htmland turns the Mac's shock sensor into a seismograph. I can watch the shock waves from the large earthquakes arrive in Houston ( about 10 minutes for the big 8.8 in South America - and it's still ringing down there.) I also keep an eye out for Grabiods or roof repair guys drooping tools on the roof at work ... kinda cool.
