A photo of a puppet of the new creature from the trailer (that may or may not have been a Graboid) on set has found its way online thanks to pilot director Vincenzo Natali.

412, thanks for the photo and info. That is NOT the original graboid but it is still a better looking worm than the African version. The sad part is that we fans again get the short end of the stick.

Definitely not the original worm, though given the fact that we've seen an original Graboid tentacle from this pilot (in another older thread I made) and some comments that director Vincenzo Natali made a while back on Twitter, it seems as though this new creature and the original Graboid would have both had roles to play in the series.
I don't love this new design, but I do think it is much, much better than the Graboid/AB variants in the Don Michael Paul films.
I wonder what the story behind this new creature would have been?

412, agree - I can't get passed the messed up life cycle in T5 and T6. I guess we may never know since there is little chance we will get to see even a pilot much less a new series which is very sad in my not so humble opinion.
