OK, I'm watching T5 on Syfy and just hit something. Burt chasing the AB that took the mechanic runs into it on a bridge where the AB set a trap. Burt fires semi-auto from a .30-06 that a little earlier was a bolt action. Now I can fire aimed fire with a lever gun as fast as anyone can fire aimed fire with a semi but the semi will absolutely empty the clip faster.

Haha, i noticed that. I think it was just bad editing.

Could be you are correct. Still, I always looked forward to 'reality gaps' that the original movies contained. Not that I enjoy poor work, I don't, but the plank breaking the window when Burt fires in T2 is not sloppy, it is just an artifact of the film process at the time. Just like the ants on "THEM" are obviously fake, they do not detract from the film. The scorpions in "The Black Scorpion" are interesting, actually a bit better than the ants but still, but not real. The story line there is such that the better special effects can not save the movie.
I guess I'm too much of a Ray Harryhausen fan to appreciate the computer graphics. I loved "Earth vs. the Flying Saucers" and the special effects were right for the story. I'm afraid the T5 effects were more of a distraction than a help for me.
