The way i see it, the reason it goes into a coma after eating is because, as we know, it is carrying an egg. Now what if it just ate a lot, and was flying to is destination? Well, it would probably crash, harming the egg. The coma allows the creature time to digest the food, so that it willwake up alert and ready to transport the egg.
What are your theories?

My theory runs like this: the Graboid and Shriekers have depleted the food supply in an area by the time the AB's arrive. Part of the life cycle is to disperse the eggs so the AB's fly off looking for a food rich environment. When an AB finds a super abundant food supply the coma helps keep them in the area until the egg is laid. Maybe the AB needs to be killed for the egg to be deposited and the coma allows it to happen. I don't know but it is one way to ensure the egg doesn't arrive in a place with no food source. That would be my evolutionary argument. Besides it was necessary so that Mindy could get to college!

412, why didn't you call this assblaster food coma? buttblaster food coma won't get as much attention as assblaster food coma.
