I just realised something. I've read posts and interacted with some of you on and off for as long as 14 years now on the Stampede Entertainment forum and here, but I don't think I know what your real names are and in some instances, where you're from. So, I thought it would be nice with a topic where we can share our first names and where we're from with each other, if you're comfortable divulging that information, of course.
I'll go first: My name is Anders and I'm born, raised and currently living in Sweden.

I think I'm the only one that used my real name online before it was cool lol. I'm from Georgia, US originally but have lived in SC for over a decade now.

All right, so we have Tim and Anders, a good start! SC, does that stand for South Carolina?

OK, I'll play. Middle name is Bart. I'm a retired Captain therefore, CaptBart Born and raised in Texas. Currently living near the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. I am also a retired NASA astro-physicist as well as a bit of a gun nut and prepper which is why I write the survival school stuff on occasion.

Hi guys!
I just have bumped into this site; it's great a Tremors forum's still alive (and pity I haven't found it before).
Well if anybody interested, the location's Bohemia in the middle of Europe; for the last quarter of century the place's called Czech Republic. The name's Andrew.

OC, Welcome Andrew. Quite a bit of history is located on this site. I look forward to your views on the various topics. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and great New Year.

Nice photo, oc. I love the heavy revolvers (really like my single actions in .45 Colt) although I have and can use pistols I prefer revolver, even have some cap and ball revolvers (1861 Army Colt).

Thanks! For everyday carry myself, I prefer my Glock 17 (it's just much more practical: essentially no dangerous critters it this country but for a stray dog here or there — and of course, bad people); but heavy revolvers are real fun! Somewhat less fun is the absurd law. Originally, I wanted the John Ross S&W .500 Performance Center 5" (one actually can buy the standard 8" here comparatively easily, but I did not want a revolver with a muzzle brake, no thank you). John would gladly sell (a couple of years ago we were in contact, for I am — terribly and inexcusably slowly, my bad! — translating the Unintended Consequences to Czech), I would very gladly buy; nevertheless, to (a) get the gun oficially outta U.S.A., (b) get the gun oficially into the Czech Republic, the paperwork for the transport etc proved rather at the impossible side: I have tried to arrange it for almost two years before I gave up :( Then, I've ordered another thing I wanted for a long time, a 30-30 BFR (they say officially it means “Big Frame”, but I think they did play Doom in fact :)) from Magnum Research, which, unlike John, happens to have a dealer in Europe: this time I did not naïvely and stupidly try to arrange it all myself. Therefore, the revolver went from the U.S.A. to Germany, from Germany to a Czech dealer, and from that dealer to me. I have paid just about thrice the money Magnum Research got (most of which went to different taxes, a small portion to the dealers), and in measly 14 months from the order I've got the gun! Oh, by the way, I believe it's you who mentioned elsewhere cap'n'ball is not officially a gun at your side of the pond? Used to be the same here — for five-odd years, from '90 up to '95. Today it is considered a very dangerous firearm in here; one needs a gun licence to buy one, and the thing is registered — just like anything else which can shoot and is bigger than a .22 CB. Dammit, am getting sick just writing about that... I do envy you the 2nd amendment, plus a not-completely-crazy state law. (That all said, we are still pretty lucky here, compared e.g., to them limeys...) Sorry for those digressions. Just letting off some steam. Back to the fun. So far, I have shot the BFR just up to 50-odd yards. This year, I'm looking forward to buy a scope and to try some hundreds; the gun should be pretty good for up to about 500 yards (and more, but 500 is the longest range here — we can't shoot anywhere but on an official range), presumed my hands and eyes are up to the task (which I frankly doubt). Well I wonder! Oh, and speaking of heavy revolvers: did you know there's one chambered for .600 NE? Never touched the thing myself and, alas, cannot afford it; but I'd very much like to have this incredible contraption in my gun collection, and fire it time to time (I guess each five years, when wrists heal, or so :))

I saw a video of a guy shooting the .600NE pistol by TC. The recoil jerked it from his hands and it flew back into his forehead and knocked him down. For that much power I want a long gun. I have a replica Sharps .50-90 that I love to shoot. It is good out to about a mile (battle of Adobe Walls and Billy Dixon) but alas, my longest close range is only 350 yards. Still it is fun to shoot and since it is almost 14 lbs the recoil is not excessive.
I'm from Texas, I certainly don't mind the digressions - I don't say in public what I think of the clowns who want to impose "sane, European rules" in place of the Constitution. I have a Brit friend who has left his firearms here for when he comes over as he can't have them in England. That is an unbelievably evil way to treat a citizen of a free country.
If you ever get to Houston, I'd be proud to take you to the range and let you play with my collection.
Thanks for putting some new life into the website. I try to stay in touch but it can get long between posts at time.

Yup, I've seen the thing, too. Very funny, unless you happen to stand behind the bloke. Also, given the way he stands and holds the gun, I would be pretty careful to lend him my 30-30. I would never attempt to shoot the .600 NE Thompson Encore myself; too light, and I like my wrists as they are, don't want to re-arrange them. Nevertheless I believe the 13+ lb Zeliska would be shootable, and I think it would make an interesting experience, though of course, you can hardly imagine a less practical firearm than that :) That such loads belong to a rifle there's no doubt of. Matter of fact, 30-30 does, too :) Thanks for the invitation, and if I happen to get there, I'll be really glad to visit. Alas, we have travelled the U.S.A. just about a year ago, and thus I fear we won't go there again soon. We are considering a Canada trip for our next holidays, but then, it's still a darn long way from Jasper to Houston... There's no hurry answering, of course :) I'm slowly browsing through the forum; actually it's a pleasant surprise a Tremors site is alive at all these days :)

I am also a gun person, and enjoy the big revolvers as well. Also, on topic: Mark, from Tennessee.
