Yeah you are exactly right, it will be weirder than we think without a burt. And I swear if they make a different character that is even like him… BUT i for one am excited for this new series. I hope that it will bring more fans to the movies because T5 didn't help too much. If you are interested in this series I have followed a lot of actors on Instagram that are working on it. A lot of them post scenic pictures of the landscape but username: "brandonjaymclaren" has 2 awesome pictures of "Perfection" on his page. One of chang's and one of a statue in front of a museum suggesting the towns tourism. Go check those out when you have time.

Kevin Bacon posted on his facebook page two photos related to the new series of Tremors (which ignores all sequel movies). So long to NM. Had an amazing time shooting this pilot. Hope I can keep walking in these boots #Tremors Grateful to go to work and see this. Grateful to have this gig. #WildHorses #Tremors #gratitude

luizburtgummer, thanks for new pictures. NM has some really beautiful places.
tressdady51, I wish the series well. I sincerely hope that the folks doing it make a quality product. I wonder if El Blanco will still be in the perfection mix.

So the pilot is now wrapped. That means they're waiting on a season pickup. If it gets picked up, we're getting at least one season out of this thing. If it doesn't... it isn't seeing the light of day, and unless the pilot somehow leaks, we are never going to see it.
I am kind of holding out hope that, if it does get picked up, Michael gets asked to return for at least an episode somewhere down the line in the season. Maybe there was no place for him in the pilot, as they wanted to use that to introduce the new characters, but an episode somewhere in the middle, or maybe even the finale, could very well be written to feature a, pardon the pun, Blast From the Past in the form of Burt Gummer returning.

412, I think it would take little imagination to have a Burt episode if nothing more than to tie the two shows together much like the original Spock showing up in the remake "STAR TREK"movie. Looking at the comments, it seems one of our biggest worries is a potential lack of continuity with the original works. If Michael Gross is unavailable for what ever reason, getting Reba into an episode or two as a way to pay tribute to the original would be a help. In T2, tribute is paid to Reba's role in T1 even though she isn't in the movie. Of course, that was the Stampede crew but it only took a few lines of dialogue to establish continuity with T1. With just a little care a discontinuity need not happen but it depends on the respect, or lack thereof, the producers have for the fan base. Again, we are at a wait and see point.

My one wonder is, do they have the arc of the season already planned, or do they just have the pilot written? Oftentimes just a pilot is written and filmed, the studio decides based on that pilot whether they want to pick up the show (remember... we don't even know if this is going to get picked up and air), and then the rest of the season is written after they get the green light. If that's the case, and nothing beyond that initial episode has been written yet, it wouldn't be so hard to imagine an episode where Val goes to confide in Burt for some information, even if the continuity of this show only includes the series and the original film.
