Yup!
It would be really great if Wilson and Maddock could get involved. Ron Underwood too, he's been doing some TV directing as of late.
I hope the series centers around Earl and Val, with Burt playing a supporting role.

I saw it as well!!! I am really excited but kind of curious about how they are going to do it. The word is it is going to follow the events of T-1. Does that mean the rest of the Tremors Universe does not exist or what? Unfortunately Stampede doesn't sound very likely as they have named a writer who has never been involved with the films before.

I honestly thought when the 5th movie was announced and finally released we were witnessing the end of the Tremors Era. I am glad I was wrong. With a brand new show going and the internet much busier than it was this site should get pretty busy.

Holy crap! Did not see this coming. I mean, from the end of Tremors 5 I thought we might've seen a series with Michael Gross and Jamie Kennedy, but a series set in Perfection centered around Valentine McKee?
I can't even imagine why Kevin Bacon wants to do this. It sounds doomed to fail, doesn't it? I mean, we'll all surely watch it. But it can't possibly make it past mid-season, right?
EDIT: Just realised that I should perhaps change my signature now.

I wonder if they're gonna go straight Graboids, Graboids and their offshoots, or branch out into other creatures, a la Tremors: The Series (though likely no mixmaster) or in the vein of the premise of The Lost Monsters stuff, with Val and Earl living up to their name and taking "odd jobs."

Seems like Michael Gross hasn't even heard about this. What do you guys think about that? On one hand if the Tremors franchise is going to survive it's going to have to leave Burt behind at some point, but at the same time this *is* set in Perfection and stars Val. Maybe Burt made the big-leagues with his TV-show and is travelling all over the world as a monster hunter? Could have a little thing about Val being envious over Burt's success when he has had to move back to Perfection.

Maybe its going to be the same premise with the original show that was supposed to come after tremors 2. I just hope it ties in with the show from 2003 bring back Tyler and everyone from the show and get Fred ward to come back full time for the show have Grady, Heather and other people from the movies make appearances keep Mixmaster around and EL Blanco but judging by Tremors 5 none of this will happen and anyways this is just wishful thinking

The fact that Michael Gross was out of the loop is fairly disheartening. To say the least.

Very disheartening. What I like to think is that maybe this news got out before Kevin wanted it to? We haven't heard anything straight from him about it, maybe he just knows for sure that he wants to do it but doesn't know who will be in it yet? Thats what I hope at least.. this is awesome news but they have to involve Burt, i can't imagine it without him. i think this will be so good for the Tremors name. Involving everything and everyone would be very hard and I'm excited to see what they do with it.

I don't think information leaked before Bacon wanted it to, since his official Facebook page even posted stuff, but I do find it likely that this thing is still in VERY early stages. Like, we already know that there isn't even a network secured yet. So it makes sense that Gross, if there's a part for him, wouldn't yet have heard of it. Bacon, on the other hand, is EP for the show, so he's obviously on top of things.
Whether this is in continuity with everything that's come or just the first movie, I absolutely want to see Gross back. The man has been with the series through absolutely everything. To not ask him would be an insult. That being said, I don't think he needs to be the lead. I'd love to see Val and Earl as the two main leads, with Burt playing a large supporting role if they decide to go that route like in the first film.
But hey, only time will tell. For all we know the show won't even get picked up. It's all early days yet.

Exactly. A critters tv series was announced a year ago and there has been no news on that since.

The critters series was meant to be a digital series along with static shock. I think its safe to say if kevin bacon is on board for this it will happen

exciting news but tempered by the possible disregard of prior episodes. I was disappointed that T5 seemed to ignore much of what had gone before. I'll wait and see but I am hopeful they'll do it correctly.
