Thought it'd be cool to have thread dedicated to the images and videos accompanying the production! So far, all of these (with the exception of the still that accompanied the press release) made their first appearance on Michael Gross' Facebook page.

THE POOP SCOOP. Day one on location in South Africa I was greeted by a huge pile of crap outside my dressing room trailer, which begs the question: was it a zebra, a wildebeest, or just another disgruntled movie critic? :0)
WIDE OPEN SPACES. These signs greet me most days on location in South Africa. "Base Camp" is the collection of trucks and trailers that comprise our home on wheels in the middle of nowhere. Dressing rooms, makeup and wardrobe trailers are located there, along with cast and crew parking. "Set" is the specific place where we are filming one or more scenes. During the course of a day, the set may move from place to place, but the base camp remains fixed. I hope to announce what film this is in the very near future. Cheers!
THE GOOD NEWS is that I was home from my South African filming by 4:30 PM today. The bad news: tomorrow's location is so remote that I must be picked up in 12 hours, 4:30 AM, to be at work by sunrise. The tiny sign in the photo points the way to the set, and my hat is off to people who get up this early EVERY morning!
DRONES, for many of us, are associated with war and weaponry, but the technology has made its way to film, as seen in this photo, taken on the set of the South African film on which I am working. This drone looks much like a miniature helicopter and provides a much cheaper alternative to a pilot and camera crew in a full-sized copter. Quite a change from the video cameras used when Family Ties premiered in 1982.

YES, the film features an actual helicopter, as well, one of many Huey Helicopters, this one manufactured by Bell Helicopter in 1969.
TOMORROW’S PRESS RELEASE from Universal Studios Hollywood promises to explain why a gentleman actor from Family Ties, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Suits ends up in South Africa cavorting with warthogs and other exotic fauna. Stay tuned for tomorrow's announcement!

BURT AND GUNS are pretty much synonymous, so I won't keep you in suspense much longer. Here is a photo of myself and one of Burt Gummer's latest weapons, the FN MAG, a machine gun that fires 750 to 1000 rounds per minute, and is perfect for Graboid hunting. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes information about this latest incarnation of the Tremors franchise. Rock on!
