Just started rewatching the series. Really like all the backstories and character development that was taking place. Even the set decorations and set lighting were not bad for a limited budget program.

Tabasco, I really like rewatching the Tremors movies and series. Having the intended order of watching available makes it even more interesting in my opinion. Under the general heading of "I can always find something to annoy me", I would really have liked to see the follow up on the "invisi-bat".
The Sy-Fy channel folks really cheated their viewers by cancelling the series, in my not so humble opinion.

Captbart,
I heartily concur, I like the ensemble cast. I find little details in the sets that I had not noticied before. Love the warm, desert like look of so many scenes too. And, it's fun watching Burt adapt to being broke and making the best of it. Really suprised Sigh-Fry is still a entity. You can see and feel Stampede's direction in the series. Like a good friend tells me every so often, "Don't be sad it's over, be happy it happened at all " While the series film quality isn't the best, I would still like a BluRay copy of the episodes.

Agreed. I have the series on-line through Amazon but I'd buy a BluRay set in a heartbeat.
One of the things I like about the series is that Burt seems to have a little more "attention to detail" in the series. Little things like having a canteen of water in the desert (4-12, ghost dance, blast from the past(he puts out the cooking fire)). It always bothered me that in T1 and T2, Burt had no water with him. Stuck on a rock in the desert is going to get thirsty in a hurry.
I find a little annoyance with the continued poor planning when it comes to firearms. In Shriek and Destory Burt does not have a reload for his Desert Eagle. About the only time I don't have at least one reload for my carry weapon is sitting at home in my easy chair. I have a firearm but don't always have a reload when relaxing at home. Of course, if I'm not at home I probably (almost always) have more than one firearm but I still have reloads.
Still, in Night of the Shriekers, Burt did shift from his heavy caliber bolt action to what I perceived to be an AR-10. In 4-12 it looks like he's carrying a bolt action .375 H&H mag. The .375 is good general choice for Perfection I think. He also switches from a 9mm semi-auto to what appears to be a S&W .460. I think he does a much better job of choosing the right tool for the job at hand in the series. Still, I'm not a big 9mm fan. I carry one (a KELTEC P-11) as a back-up pocket pistol but I prefer a .45 or .357 for personal defense. I like Taylor's comment in Flora or Fauna when he is asked if he really needs that .38SPL snub nose. His response of "Half the time, it's not enough" is true.
Just my not so humble opinion, of course.

Yep, a lot of it is simply Hollywood. I was always wondering why Burt didn't carry a hydration bag on that heat holding tac vest. In a environment where a known threat could easily leave you stranded, again, on a rock cropping in the middle of a desert. Amongst a few other observations. Still love it though, pure escapism. It's a shame Universal controls it's property and fate. Stampede's SS Wilson is a skilled writer. I would be very happy with a Tremors series of novels.

Tabasco, I agree. I found "Tucker's Monster" a good read and I bet there could be an entire series of Tremors books. I have never objected to "pure escapism; sometimes you just need the release.
You are correct about the hydration pack. I have never used one and never thought of one. I guess they just were not on my radar. I do wonder if Burt could afford one given his reduced financial circumstances. I don't have a clue about the prices of some things that Burt has and uses.
As a ham radio operator, I know enough electronics to be, shall we say, "impressed" by the performance of the walkie-talkies. Transmitting from inside of a barrel, while inside of a Grabiod, while underground is a pretty good trick.
Still, I am most impressed by Burt's tactical vest. That piece of kit always has exactly what he needs, when it is needed.
What I never understood is why Burt didn't get a medal detector and go silver hunting. It was blown up, fragmented and scattered but the silver was not destroyed.

Burt's vest is remarkable! I like Twitchell's remark about Burt's bunker in 'Night Of the Shreikers'. " Looks like a Tijuana holding cell..."

Tabasco, Never having seen a Tijuana holding cell I did like the comment. I've seen a few "law enforcement facilities" in some fairly 3rd world areas (Viet Nam, for instance) and they are bleak. Still Burt's preps are impressive in the series. I do wonder about his choices at times. The starlight scope in "Ghost Dance" are not cheap. At the time they were as expensive as most of Burt's firearms for example.

Just started watching the series again. I'm still wondering why,if Burt knows all of his silver is scattered around, why doesn't he do a little surface mining? He has all of these "neat toys" but doesn't seem to have a metal detector.
