Now CHILDREN - let's not squabble ... (I'm probably the oldest clown here so I figure I can get away with that :-) ... we all have our hobbies. By the way, Sniper, I like the 'Nom de Plume' - I'd truly love to wring out a Barrett .50 - provided I'd already made an appointment with my Chiropractor - I'm probably getting a little long in the tooth for that much recoil. One of the things I have always liked about the Tremors movies and series is that I know people exactly like each of the characters and they are extremely well played in the movies and series. Of course when my grown kids watch the DVD's with me and pop up with 'Dad, that is SO YOU!' when certain things are said it is rather annoying ...

Nom de Plume - pen name. Back in the dark ages when I when to Catholic School, Sister Mary Holy Water made us use words like that. Guess the habits die hard. My apologies for the confusion - I guess I'm more of a dinosaur than I realized. My comments about the Barrett .50 BMG still stand. I'd love to shoot that or the Grizzly Big Bore ( I really like the looks of both of those guns).

i was not being rude and i apologize if i hurt your feelings k Ok, but I've never really known why, but I've always head EVERY profanity in movies, even the whispered ones or the ones off in the distance.

you know rereading this thread brought back memories of a argument i had right before tremors 3 came out with someone on another blog alot of people then argued that tremors 3 would not make as much money as the first 2 and would not be watched by alot of people simply because they got a PG rating instead of a PG-13 rating and i guess i was on your side because i thought it was the dumbest thing i had ever heard

timforston, I agree with you, sir. I rarely check the ratings of a movie unless I'm taking grand-kids to see it. Even then, there is a lot more to content than language. I think some folks argue that the more restrictive ratings make more money for the producers but the numbers on money made don't seem to support that claim. Content seems to be the big determining factor. Here again, I think T1 was a tad close on profanity for the heck of it but I think everything else was just about right. Even T1 (in my not so humble opinion) did not cross the line - just came close at times.

Yep ... back in the stone age BCT (before color television) Art Linkletter had a routine he did on his live show (I don't think they do those anymore - too dangerous) where he'd as kids 'what did mommy and daddy tell you not to say on the air.' The kids would then proceed in graphic detail to explain EXACTLY what they were told not to say. Kids can be too honest for the grownups!

Back in 1939 to 1959 if any profanity, even hell or damn would freak people out. It was considered a crime to use profanities in movies back then, even mild ones.

yes that is true like the example from gone with the wind where the line 'frankly my dear i dont give a damn' which resulted in a $10,000 fine not chumpchange for a movie back then, but on the flip side to that women also never wore low cut clothes and always wore dresses and i dont really think you can compare tv or movies from today to back then cause times change and i would rather hear some cuss words in tremors than see rosalita in a long non reveling dress all the time...... just saying

^ I hated that movie! We watched in 8th Grade History Class, most boring 6 hours of my life ever! The cast and acting was just terrible!
But anyway, make someone from 1939 watch the first Tremors movie, their reaction would be hilarious!

OMFG you hated gone with the wind? kids just arent raised right these days lol What? Personally, I can't stand movies made before 1990. Gone with the wind (1939)- Jeez! Boring, even the scene with guns! Piranha (1975)- Good for 1 watch, then no Alligator (1980)- meh Piranha 2 (1985)- couldn't watch after the first twenty minutes

Most good movies are old. King Kong (1933), the Wolf Man, Frankenstien, Alien, Aliens, Predator, The Terminator, Terminator 2, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Gremlins 2 (though that may be after 1990), the list goes on and on...
